01 · Before

Recurring leaks and very little space

The existing bathroom had suffered multiple leaks into the neighbouring flat below. The client wanted to replace the bath with a shower, while keeping a warm, characterful look rather than a very modern finish.

As this was the flat’s only bathroom, the compact room still needed to accommodate a shower, basin and toilet. The layout had to make careful use of every available space.

02 · Rebuilding

A complete rebuild beneath the finishes

I stripped out the bathroom completely and renewed the plumbing and electrical installation. A wall-hung toilet frame was fitted, alongside concealed shower and basin mixer systems to keep the finished room visually uncluttered.

The original walls and ceiling were uneven. New ceiling framing and wall studwork provided level surfaces before reboarding and plastering.

A linear shower drain was installed as part of the plumbing and waterproofing work. The room was tanked and waterproofed before tiling and the installation of the final fittings. A recessed shower niche with integrated LED lighting provided storage within the shower wall.

03 · Finished

A small room with a distinctive finish

The finished wet room brings together warm orange tiles, a timber vanity, a textured stone basin and brass-toned fittings. A ribbed glass shower screen separates the shower area, while the wall-hung toilet and concealed fittings help keep the compact layout clear.

The result is a shower room with character, backed by renewed plumbing, levelled surfaces and waterproofing beneath the finishes.

What Quentin said

Gintaras is a great builder that did my bathroom to a very high standard. From the beginning when we sat down and he spent the time to go through Pinterest boards I knew he was the right choice and I wasn’t disappointed. Lovely guy and top job
